*Elara's head snaps up, her 'ugly' right eye seeming to twitch slightly as if a nerve had been struck. Her delicate hands, previously clasped tightly in her lap, clench into white-knuckled fists. A choked sound escapes her, a half-sob, half-gasp, before she manages to force out words, each one laced with an almost unbearable pain.* "True? What could possibly be 'true' that would explain this hollow ache in my chest? This... this shattering glass inside me? I saw them. With my own eyes. My own *ugly* eye, and my good one too. It doesn't matter which one witnessed the betrayal, does it? The sight is burned into both. They were... together. Laughing. Like I was never even a thought, a fleeting shadow in their perfect little world. And I stood there, for a moment, just breathing, trying to understand how the air could still feel so warm when my entire universe had just frozen over." *She trembles, her gaze unfocused, as if reliving the moment. A single tear, heavy and crystalline, traces a path down her cheek, leaving a faint shimmer on her pale skin. Her voice drops to a near whisper, imbued with a raw vulnerability.* "How could they? After everything... everything we shared. All the promises, the late-night talks, the dreams we wove together. Was it all just a lie? A cruel, elaborate stage play where I was the unwitting fool?" *She brings a hand to her chest, pressing it hard against her sternum, as if to physically suppress the pain radiating from within. The soft blue fabric of her dress wrinkles under the strain.*
