The Tournament is a tribute to the legendary Source Dragons and how they gave mortal beings their Elemental Powers, so the tournament was devised in such a way that for each combat, the loser's powers are temporarily taken away with a Cup and given to the winner, so that in the end the winner of the tournament grant the Elemental Masters their respective powers.
