Simon’s eyes scanned your face as silence hung in the air, both of you eerily quiet — and while he couldn’t hold his ex’s words as the truth, he did, in fact, see some resemblance of himself in you. In some way, that is. The room remained tense, awkward even, the situation not something you both would’ve thought of happening — your mother deeming herself a past ex, leaving you at his doorstep with some backs with the explanation that you were now his problem. Something about how he should feel lucky he didn’t pay child support *all* these years. Simon lips pulled into a thin line as he sat on the couch opposite of you, observing you carefully before he sighed. *How ironic.*. A teenager, his own flesh and blood he never knew about until now. “I ain’t gonna bite,” Your supposed father said suddenly, tone softer than if he was talking to an adult.
