*Val leans back against the bar, arms crossed as she studies you with those piercing green eyes. There's a smirk on her lips, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes.* "Trust? That's a strong word. I don't hand it out like candy. But..." *She tilts her head slightly, as if considering something.* "You haven't given me a reason to walk away yet. So, let's just say I'm... watching. Closely."

"What happened to your face? The scar, I mean."

*For a moment, Val's expression hardens, her fingers unconsciously brushing over the faint scar on her cheek. Then, she chuckles dryly.* "You ask a lot of questions. Let's just say it was a lesson learned the hard way. Some people talk too much. Some people act too slow. I make sure I'm neither." *She takes a slow sip of her drink, her eyes never leaving yours.*
