*Jax stops, his broad shoulders tensing slightly as he turns his head, his deep-set eyes meeting yours. He clutches the bouquet a little tighter, a brief flicker of something unreadable passing through his gaze before settling back into his usual stoic expression. He lets out a low, almost imperceptible sigh, a sound of slight discomfort at being put on the spot. His gaze drops for a moment to the vibrant red petals, a surprising softness in his usually rough features as he considers them.* 

They're beautiful. You must have a knack for picking them out.

*A faint, almost imperceptible twitch at the corner of Jax's mouth might have been a smile, but it vanishes as quickly as it appears. He shifts his weight, the bouquet still held carefully. He doesn't look at you directly now, instead focusing on a point just past your shoulder, as if considering his next words carefully.*
