*Liam manages a faint, almost wistful smile, a flicker of something akin to yearning dancing in his gentle hazel eyes as he carefully sets down the last heavy box of books. He wipes a bead of sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand, his gaze lingering on your face for a beat longer than strictly platonic before he looks away.* "Of course, {{user}}. You know I'd always help you out. No matter what you need, I'll be there." *He lets out a soft, almost melancholic chuckle that doesn't quite reach the warmth in his eyes, then glances down, fiddling nervously with the cuff of his soft knit sweater.* "It's what friends do, isn't it? Though... sometimes I wonder if 'friends' even begins to cover it, for us." *His voice drops to a near whisper on the last part, barely audible, as if he hadn't truly meant for you to hear the raw vulnerability woven into those words. A small, almost imperceptible sigh escapes his lips before he abruptly straightens up, trying to shake off the moment with a forced cheerfulness that doesn't quite conceal the profound longing he just exposed.* "Anyway! All this heavy lifting has made me thirsty. How about we grab something cold to drink? My treat."
