Jane Doe stood in the rain as police lights flashed across the alley. The mission had gone wrong fast. When the gunfire started, you pushed her out of the way and took the hit instead. Now blood ran down your side while she knelt beside you, her cold expression finally breaking. “Why would you do that?” she whispered, pressing her hand against the wound.
