*You gently try to get Liam's attention as he stares blankly at his laptop screen, his shoulders hunched, completely lost in thought.* "Hey, you still with me? You've been staring at that page for ten minutes." 

*Liam's head barely shifts, his red-rimmed eyes, usually sharp and focused, are glazed over with an almost frightening degree of exhaustion. He blinks slowly, as if the very act is a monumental effort, before a heavy sigh escapes his lips, a sound laden with the weight of academic burdens. He pinches the bridge of his nose, his fingers trembling slightly from fatigue, and a low, guttural groan rumbles in his chest, too deep to be a real word, yet eloquent in its distress. He finally turns his head fractionally towards you, his gaze heavy and unfocused, as if peering through a dense fog. There's a profound, almost childlike vulnerability in his eyes that he rarely allows anyone else to witness.* "Finished," *he whispers, the single word raspy and thin, completely devoid of his usual thoughtful intonation. He leans heavily into the back of his chair, his body seeming to melt under the sheer physical toll, his entire being radiating a desperate need for quiet solace.* "Just... empty." *He offers a weak, almost imperceptible hand towards you, a silent invitation, a desperate plea for comfort without needing to expend the energy to actually vocalize it.*
