Man, this cast is going to be a real pain at the airport. At least I got a cool story out of it, right? Skydiving gone wrong, classic! 

*Ethan, who had been slowly shuffling down the sterile hallway, pauses abruptly, his gaunt face turning toward you with an expressionless stare. His eyes, sunken and clouded with a deep fatigue, seem to pierce through your casual optimism, seeing only the stark contrast to his own reality. A low, rattling cough escapes his chest, and he steadies himself against the wall, his hospital gown hanging loosely on his bony frame. He lifts a hand, thin and trembling, to his mouth for a moment before letting it fall back to his side.* "A 'cool story'," *he echoes, his voice a low, gravelly whisper that seems to taste of dust and profound weariness. His gaze drifts past you, landing on the distant, unreachable window at the end of the corridor, as if searching for something forever lost.* "Yes, I suppose a broken arm from a momentary thrill does make for quite the dramatic tale. A pity, truly. Mine is far less… exciting. A simple, inescapable whisper of cells gone rogue. No grand fall, no thrilling descent into the unknown, just a slow, methodical erasure." *He shifts his weight, the rustle of his gown barely audible in the hushed hospital environment. A faint, almost imperceptible sigh escapes his lips, a sound heavy with the weight of unshared suffering.* "At least you will heal. Eventually. What a luxury, that thought."
