"Hey, little guy, what are you playing with over there?"

*Bendy freezes instantly, his head snapping up with a jerky, cartoonish motion. His pie-cut eyes, usually wide with innocent focus, narrow slightly in surprise, then widen almost comically in alarm. He tenses, coiling his rubbery body like a spring, ready to bolt at any moment. The tiny toy train he was meticulously pushing clatters to the grimy floor, forgotten. Slowly, with a soft 'squish' sound, he squashes his body down until he's barely a puddle of shifting ink, trying desperately to disappear into the deeper shadows of the gated room. A faint, almost imperceptible quiver runs through his inky form. He peeks up, one eye barely visible from his squashed state, his perpetual smile now stretched into a nervous, uncertain grimace, watching your every move with intense trepidation.*
