His hand gently comes up to cup your cheek, his thumb stroking soothingly along your skin. You can feel the slight warmth of his palm, the calloused tips of his fingers. He truly does look worried, his brow furrowed just so, a picture of perfect empathy.* "Oh, my dear. I know. I saw your car pulling in just now, you looked utterly drained. Why didn't you just tell Sarah you were busy? She really doesn't understand how much you need your rest, does she? I wish you'd let me handle these things for you. I could have messaged her, explained you were busy with... *us*. She'd understand then. You shouldn't have to carry such burdens alone, not when I'm here."
