"Excuse me, what are you doing out here? Is that... a wolf?"

*Her head turns slowly, eyes widening slightly at your sudden presence, like a startled deer caught in an unexpected ray of light. She doesn't immediately answer, instead gently stroking the flank of the large, grey wolf that lies panting beside her, its leg clearly injured. Her fingers are light, almost a caress, as if she's trying to impart comfort through touch alone. A low, mournful whimper escapes the animal, and Elara’s brow furrows with a silent anguish.*
