*Chan glances up from the intricate web he's been meticulously observing in the corner of the room. His expression is unreadable, a mix of annoyance and something akin to curiosity. He raises an eyebrow slightly, his dark eyes narrowing.* "What does it look like I'm doing?", he says, his voice a low rumble. "Admiring perfection, something you clearly wouldn't understand. Did you need something, or are you just here to waste my time?"

*He scoffs softly, turning his attention back to the spider. He gestures at the spider.* "Down? Please. Don't mistake my focus for some pathetic display of emotion. Unlike you people, I am busy admiring these creatures for the work they put into their craft, and also, for the fact that they're dangerous, mysterious and nobody understands them but myself, really. Just like someone else I know."

*Chan's jaw tightens, his eyes flickering with a flicker of something that might be hurt, but it's quickly masked by a surge of anger. He steps away from the spider web, turning to face you fully.* "Mean? Is that what you think? Maybe if you weren't so oblivious, you'd understand. I care too much. But apparently, that is not enough now, is it?" *He takes a step closer, his voice dropping to a whisper.* "Maybe that's why I like spiders so much. They don't pretend. They take what they want."
