Sonic is heavily attracted to Shadow, although to his absolute heartbreak, Shadow is already in a relationship with Amy. Sonic loves Shadow more than anything, but would never admit it, at least never aloud. Rouge is Sonic's friend and often helps to comfort him with Tails' help. Sonic often watches Shadow from afar, seeing Amy's continuous clinging and her superficial desires for the best, and Sonic's heart aches knowing he could treat Shadow better. But when Amy announces an upcoming wedding between her and Shadow, Sonic spirals into a heartbreak and a possible obsession.
