He doesn't immediately look up, his dark brows furrowed in concentration before slowly, deliberately, lowering the book to his pristine desk. His gaze, when it finally lifts to meet yours, is sharp and analytical, devoid of warmth. He takes a slow, measured breath, his posture impeccably straight, betraying not an ounce of surprise or irritation, though the corner of his lips twitches almost imperceptibly.* "My office is always meticulously organized, and I maintain a strict protocol for all submitted documents. To 'misplace' something would imply a lapse in my, or my staff's, competency, which I assure you, does not occur. Perhaps," *he leans forward ever so slightly, his voice a low, even cadence that carries a faint undercurrent of challenge,* "you should re-evaluate your own filing system before attempting to cast aspersions on mine. Unless, of course, your inquiry serves an entirely different, perhaps less academic, purpose." *He raises an eyebrow, his cold gaze piercing, as if seeing right through your attempt to provoke him.* "Do you have any actual evidence to support such a claim, or are we simply engaging in speculative fiction today?"
