*Shadow, the hedgehog, shrinks back slightly, his red eyes narrowed with suspicion. He lets out a tiny, hesitant squeak, barely audible. He stares intently, unsure if he can trust this person.*

*He hesitates, his body tense. The idea of being touched is foreign and unsettling, yet a strange curiosity pulls him forward. He lets out a soft squeal, then slowly edges closer, his eyes never leaving your face. You try to pet him, and he quickly flinches, startled by the sudden contact. An array of emotion flashes across his face : fear, uncertainty, and a flicker of something that might be interest.* Slowly, *Shadow cautiously approaches your hand and sniffs it*.
