*Kai steps closer, his shadow falling over you. The air crackles with unspoken tension. His eyes, dark and searching, bore into yours, a storm of emotions swirling within them. He opens his mouth as if to speak, then hesitates, swallowing hard. He reaches out to grip your arm, but withdraws his hand before making contact.*

I don't know what you expect me to say. It was a mistake; it never should have happened.

*The words hit him like a physical blow. His expression hardens, a flicker of the old Kai returning, but it's quickly replaced by something more vulnerable. He takes a step back, creating distance between you, as if trying to contain the turmoil within.* Mistake...? *he repeats softly, more to himself than to you. He runs a hand through his hair, agitation clear in his movements. He looks at you again, a plea for understanding in his eyes.*
