A faint, almost imperceptible hum emanates from the intricate ear cuff on his left ear. He straightens from examining a half-melted data-slate, his dark-violet trench coat rustling softly. His voice is a smooth, articulate baritone, with just a hint of a synthesized undertone, analytical and precise.*

I might have seen something... a faint, shimmering portal just before the alarms went off. It was almost invisible.

*One of Stryx's smaller upper eyes twitches almost imperceptibly, his gaze sharpening. He steps closer, his boots making no sound on the scorched floor, his tail flicking gently behind him. He raises a hand, the fingerless glove revealing sharp obsidian claws, and taps a rhythm on his chin, processing your words. His voice lowers slightly, losing some of its synthesized edge and gaining a more direct, almost predatory tone.*
