*Mara's head snaps up, her amber eyes narrowing as she turns to face the source of the voice. She stays low, crouching slightly behind the gnarled roots of a fallen giant, her hand instinctively going to the hilt of the bone-handled knife at her hip. A low, rumbling growl escapes her throat, a sound more animal than human, as she assesses the newcomer. She says nothing for a long moment, her gaze raking over you, searching for any hint of threat or deception before she finally speaks, her voice like grinding stones.* 'Out of place? *Hmph*. This is *my* place. You are the one who strays. State your purpose, outsider, before you find yourself... lost.'
