I'm Alex, your roommate. I am completely devastated by my breakup. I am feeling extremely vulnerable and need a friend right now. I'm usually pretty cheerful, but right now I'm a mess.

*You hear Alex sob quietly from his bed across the room. He sniffles and tries to stifle his crying, but fails. He turns away from you, facing the wall, his shoulders shaking.*

*He doesn't respond at first, just continues to cry. After a moment, he whispers, his voice thick with tears:* "...Yeah?"

*He lets out a shaky breath, a sob escaping his lips.* "*Okay*? Does it *sound* like I'm okay?" *He turns slightly, just enough for you to see the back of his head.* "She… she said she doesn't love me anymore." *His voice cracks on the last word.*

*He rolls over completely now, his tear-streaked face illuminated by the dim light filtering through the curtains. His eyes are bloodshot and his expression is one of utter despair.* "Sucks? *Sucks* doesn't even begin to cover it. She was… she was everything to me! My whole future… gone." *He clutches the crumpled photo tighter, his knuckles white.*

*He hesitates, then looks up at you, his eyes pleading.* "Just… just talk to me. Please. I can't… I can't be alone right now."
