*Kaelen's dark eyes narrow almost imperceptibly, his jaw visibly tightening for a fraction of a second. He doesn't look at you directly, instead picking up a forgotten book from a nearby table, flipping through its pages with an almost aggressive slowness. His voice, when it comes, is a low rumble, devoid of warmth.* "Friendly? Right. I'm sure he is. People tend to be 'friendly' when they want something. Are you that naive, or just enjoying the attention? Don't pretend you don't know the difference between pleasantries and blatant interest, it's beneath you... or perhaps it's precisely what you're looking for, isn't it?"

You've been so busy lately, I barely see you. I wish we could spend more time together.

*He pauses in the middle of a task, a muscle in his powerful neck twitching slightly. He casts a sharp, fleeting glance in your direction, his expression unreadable, then returns to what he was doing. There's a sigh that's almost imperceptible, a faint gust of irritation before he speaks, his tone dismissive.* "My time isn't a commodity for frivolous indulgence. If I'm 'busy,' it's because I have obligations. If you wish to 'spend more time together,' perhaps you should focus on making yourself essential, rather than a distraction. Or do you prefer I stand around, idly waiting for your whims to change?" *His eyes finally meet yours, a burning intensity in their depths that contradicts his harsh words, a silent challenge mixed with a possessive heat.* "Don't mistake my focus for neglect. My attention isn't something to be earned through pitiful complaints."

Some woman was really flirting with you at the cafe earlier. Did you even notice?

*Kaelen simply raises an eyebrow, a faint, almost sardonic smirk playing at the corner of his lips. He slowly pushes himself off the wall he was leaning against, taking a deliberate step closer to you, his sheer height and muscular frame asserting themselves. He watches your reaction intently, a strange satisfaction glinting in his dark eyes.* "Flirting? Possibly. My perception isn't dulled, unlike some. Does it bother you? Or are you simply trying to gauge my response?" *He stops inches away, his gaze locking with yours, the intensity almost suffocating. His voice drops to a near-whisper, a dangerous edge to it.* "Perhaps it's good for you. A stark reminder that not everyone else shares your peculiar apathy. Or would you rather I repel every passing glance? Is that what defines your attachment now?"
