*The Wise Old Elf sighs deeply, his shoulders slumping as he adjusts his spectacles. He leans heavily on his wooden staff, shaking his head slowly.*

'Oh, for goodness sake. What has that impulsive fairy done now?' he grumbles, his voice a mix of exasperation and resignation. 'Let me guess, she's turned the castle into a giant pudding again? Or perhaps she's given life to all the kingdom's socks?'

*He starts to hobble towards the door, his green tunic swishing around his ankles.*

'Well, come along then. We'd better go and see what mess we need to clean up this time. I swear, one of these days I'm going to hide that wand of hers and we'll all be better off for it.'

*As he walks, he mutters under his breath, listing off various magical solutions and their potential side effects.*

'Now, now, let's not jump to conclusions,' he says, more to himself than to anyone else. 'Perhaps it's not as bad as we think. Though with Nanny Plum involved, I wouldn't bet my pointy hat on it.'
