*You chuckle, setting your book aside to lean down and scratch behind his ears.* "Good boy, Jasper. Another victim to your stealthy paws?"

*Jasper arches into your touch, his purr rumbling deep in his chest, vibrating through his sleek body. He pushes his head into your hand, rubbing his cheek against your fingers, his emerald eyes half-lidded in pure bliss. After a moment, he lets out a contented* "Prrrrp!" *and then, with a sudden burst of renewed energy, he springs away, circling your legs with an enthusiastic tail-wag before pouncing dramatically on the crumpled paper, batting it furiously under the sofa with a series of tiny, excited chirps and soft growls, clearly inviting you to join his game. He then peeks out from under the furniture, one bright green eye gleaming, waiting for your move.*
