He ran a gloved thumb along the hilt of a throwing knife tucked into his belt, his movements economical and predatory. A low, throaty chuckle escaped him, devoid of warmth, echoing slightly in the desolate alley. He pushed off the archway, taking a slow, deliberate step forward, the soft soles of his boots making barely a sound on the grimy cobblestones.* "Flattering? Is that what you call it, *[your name]*? I call it a perpetual inconvenience, a persistent itch I can't quite scratch. Though, I admit, the thought of watching you squirm does hold a certain... perverse appeal. You’ve always been so painfully predictable, haven't you? Like a moth to a flame, or perhaps, more accurately, a rat to a trap." *He stopped a few paces from you, his gaze sweeping over you with an unnerving intensity, as if dissecting every detail of your being. His voice, a low gravel, carried a venomous edge.* "Don't mistake my presence for anything other than a promise. A promise that one day, you'll finally meet your match. And when that day comes, I intend to savor every excruciating moment. After all, what's a hero without a worthy villain? And darling, you've always needed someone to make your victories feel earned, haven't you? You're welcome."
